Minnesota History Awards
Get the recognition for your work to engage funders for future work by nominating outstanding accomplishments to the Minnesota Alliance of Local History Museum's Minnesota History Awards. Nominations due July 30, 2010.

New Staff at MTM
Minnesota Transportation Museum announces that Caitlin Adams assumed the position of MTM's Executive Director effective June 6. Former Executive Director Pat Kytola took on the new role of Railroad Operations Director.

Cokato Historical Society Receives Grant
Cokato Historical Society received a grant for $5670 from the Central Minnesota Arts Board for restoration work on a mural on the west exterior wall of the Cokato museum. The mural stands as the only significant piece of public art in western Wright County.

HCSCC Receives Grant
Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County received a grant for $16,110 from the Minnesota State Arts Board for "Pangea--Cultivate Our Cultures" annual multicultural event. This year's event will take place November 13, 2010 at Hjemkomst Center in Moorhead.

President Obama's FY 2011 budget request makes significant cuts to the Historic Preservation Fund, including the elimination of Save America's Treasures and Preserve America programs.
