Minnesota Historical & Cultural Heritage Grants


Reminder--Grant Deadline

The first small grants deadline of the 2014-15 biennium is this Friday July 12, 2013. Applications must be submitted by midnight on Friday. Spotlighted Projects: Legacy Money Funds Award Winning Projects

All of Minnesota's eight AASLH Leadership in History Award winners received some kind of Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund (Legacy) funding and four of the winners received Legacy funding through the Minnesota Historical & Cultural Heritage Grants program. The awards help confirm the quality of the work that is being done with Legacy money around the state. Read more about it below in the Field Note section.

AASLH Award Winners
American Association for State and Local History (AASLH) announced the winners of the 68th annual Leadership in History Awards, the most prestigious recognition for achievement in the preservation and interpretation of state and local history.


AASLH conferred 88 national awards this year. Of those, Minnesota organizations brought home eight awards, including one HIP (History in Progress) Award. Awards will be presented during the 2013 AASLH Annual Meeting in Birmingham AL, Friday September 20, 2013.
