Field Note

About Place

Historic sites help define a sense of place, and, according to state and federal government, are part of the natural environment.

Three Rivers Park District manages parks in many of the Twin Cities metropolitan counties, and within them manage numerous historic and archaeological sites including the Grimm Farm Historic Site (Wendelin Grimm Farmstead) and the Pierre Bottineau House.

This is another example of preserving a system of historic places. There are a number of others organizations that also do this, from Murray County Historical Society to Winona County Historical Society to Clearwater County Historical Society and many places in between.
