Field Note

Lake Superior Railroad Museum, Duluth MN, held an "empty bowl" event to benefit Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank. As community members, history organizations find ways to use their powers to transform lives. Often that means a timely exhibit or book on an issue, organizing records so that a segment of the community that needs access has access, or offering safe spaces to have open discussions. In this case LSRM participated by using some of their space to help fundraise for hunger.

The locomotive in the background is the Wm. Crooks, the first locomotive to operate in Minnesota, 1862, for the Minnesota & Pacific Railroad, later part of the Great Northern, and now part of BNSF.

The last of the one-day workshops will be held Thursday April 24, 2014 at
