Miss out on the 2013 Preserve Minnesota, the Statewide Historic Preservation Conference in Lanesboro? Not a problem. We have recorded many of the sessions and are posting them on the State Historic Preservation Office's blog as we finish editing each of them.

Facebook Findings

Minnesota Local History now has 1324 friends, many of them likely trying to keep warm in the cold temperatures!

  • It's cold out there, but it's been colder. Check out the statistics from 1996. What does your organization do to document cold snaps?
  • Does your organization offer life memberships? If so, how do you administer them? Is this a better option than chasing after renewals?
  • Rod Searle, former Minnesota House Speaker and friend of state and local history, passed away at age 93.
  • Battle of New Orleans, January 8, 1815, still commemorated.
