Moving Pictures is Minnesota's most rewarding film competition. Winning films receive more than $10,000 in cash prizes.

Film Festival

See 60 original short films that explore the lives and legacy of Minnesota's Greatest Generation. Produced by filmmakers of all ages and abilities, these 10-minute films seek to document and preserve the lives of Minnesota's "greatest generation"--the men and women that came of age during the Depression and World War II.

Meet the filmmakers and vote for your favorite films!

Awards Program

Be there as the drama unfolds. Walk the red carpet, check out the classic theater atmosphere and enjoy live music by Dan Newton's Accordian Band. Hear from author Dave Kenney, documentarian Melody Gilbert, and director Ali Selim (taped). See the winning films from five award categories including Best Film by an Emerging Filmmaker Award and the 2007 Best Film selection. Hear from the filmmakers! Formal or vintage attire is encouraged.

Stay late to see three honorable mention films and join the filmmakers at the Riverview Wine Bar After Party with music by jazz legend Irv Williams.
