About the 1968 Film Competition
$10,000 in Awards
Anyone Can Enter. People of all ages and experience levels – from novice to professional -- are encouraged to submit films.
Topics. Make a film about this turbulent era, focusing on 1968, from a national or local, personal or political perspective.
Film Length. Films must be 10 minutes or less.
Awards. A judging panel determines awards. There is a $5,000 award for Best Film. Four other categories are awarded between $1,000 and $2,500.
Screenings. All films will be screened during the 1968 Film Festival on Sept. 27, 2009. Selected films, including the winners, will also be showcased in additional screenings around the country.
What If You’ve Never Made A Film Before? The Minnesota Historical Society provides support including filmmaking workshops, access to archival film and photos, and even state-of-the-art technical equipment. Learn how to submit a film.
