Minnesota A to Z

Minnesota A to Z closed July 4, 2004

Objects from the state's history are organized around the letters of the alphabet, each with a different theme.

"B is for Belonging" explores Jewish teen life in the Twin Cities from 1945-70. "B is for Belonging" is a collaborative effort of the Jewish Historical Society of the Upper Midwest and the Minnesota Historical Society.

Imagine gliding along in a 37-foot birch-bark canoe at "C." Press a button and hear a loon's song at "L." Toward the end, at "Y," the 10-foot Yankee Girl sets the backdrop for the story of Gerry Spiess' trip across the North Atlantic Ocean.

"J is for Journey" the wagon used by the Dave Kunst from Waseca, the first man to circle the globe on foot.

The "Q is for Quilts" section showcases eight quilts from the Society's collections and the stories behind them.
