Children's Programs

The Alexander Ramsey House offers many ways for children to experience the Victorian Era. Our programs encourage children to use their senses and imagination to “travel back in time.” Our programs use the intriguing spaces of the mansion, stories of the family and their vast collection of “old-fashioned things” to give children a personal connection with a bygone era.

Public Tours

Children are welcome on public tours. Our costumed guides are experienced in engaging young visitors as they walk through all of the interesting rooms filled with “curious” objects in this Victorian Mansion.

Field Trips

Field Trip programs are available for all ages.

Birthday Parties

Have a historic birthday event! Birthday parties and other occasions participate in our Victorian Clothing and Cooking program.

Scout Groups

Scout Groups have a great time at the Ramsey House! They can participate in your choice of four different Victorian Programs, Victorian Clothing and Cooking program. See our pre-visit materials (pdf) for Scouts.

A summer favorite! “The Ramsey House Finishing School for Young Ladies” offers two distinctive day camp options. Now Registering for summer 2008!
