Field Trips
On fieldtrips to the Alexander Ramsey House, students see and hear what growing up was like for Alexander Ramsey's grandchildren, Anita, Laura, and Alexander Ramsey Furness.
Our guides tell stories based on the family’s letters, diaries and photographs. Using these primary sources and over 14,000 original artifacts, each room is decorated to reflect the years from 1872-1900.
Students take a tour with our expert costumed guides and learn how their lives compare to the Ramsey family and servants. Students also sample a cookie prepared in our wood-burning stove while learning how the Ramsey's up-to-date kitchen operated.
