Six children in Forestville, about 1912 Six children at Forestville

Many of the children behind this white picket fence have been identified. On the far left is Margaret Meighen, born in 1899 to Thomas and Mary Meighen in Forestville. After she and her family moved to nearby Preston in 1905, they came back to Forestville often to check on the buildings and farming operation. The girl she is holding has not been identified. Next to her is Margaret's first cousin Eva Healy. The two blond twins (one is next to Healy and the other is on the far right) are Phillip and Ludwig Gartner, Forestville neighbors. The small boy between them has not been identified. The fence they are standing behind surrounded the Meighen garden. The granary, built in 1859, can be seen in the background at the far left. At the far right is a shed that no longer exists.
