Pioneers came to Minnesota to build homes and farms on the prairies and in the woods. They used oxen to break the prairie, clear the fields and haul timber to the sawmills.


Two teams of oxen turn over sod at the Kelley Farm just as early Minnesota farmers did in the 1850s.
