In the garden, the same varieties of plants are grown as Kelley raised. Heirloom seeds are located through the Seed Savers Exchange, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agriculture Canada and other sources. Long Orange carrots, Mangel Wurtzel beets and Large Early Red tomatoes are just some of the historical varieties raised here.

Farm women were often responsible for preserving the produce from the kitchen garden. At the Kelley Farm, old methods of pickling and preserving are demonstrated in the house.
