The Oliver H. Kelley Farm is a living history farm interpreting agriculture and rural life from 1850 to 1876. The 189-acre farm is a National Historic Landmark that features a farmstead restored to the 1850s and the Kelley house restored to 1876. There is a 40-acre historic farm, a 2.5 mile network of natural history trails and 40 acres of restored prairie all set along the banks of the Mississippi River.

The Kelley Farm Interpretive Center has an exhibit on the life of Oliver Kelley and the formation of the Grange, an auditorium, a bookstore and public facilities. Located on U.S. Hwy 10 just southeast of downtown Elk River, Minn., the Kelley Farm is a popular destination for tours, visitors and school field trips. The Kelley Farm is accessible with ADA compliant facilities.

Hours of Operation

Groups touring the site during public hours must make reservations. Organizations interested in using the site for other functions must make special arrangements with site management regarding the group size, date, time and type of event.

Facilities

The Interpretive Center provides an indoor setting for meetings, conferences, classes, lectures, receptions, luncheons and dinners. Groups up to 100 can be comfortably accommodated. The historic site and picnic grounds are available for outdoor events, outside of public hours by special arrangement. Larger groups can be accommodated on site for outdoor events.

Equipment

Tables, chairs, speakers' podium, blackboard, public address system, slide projector, screen and video equipment are available in the Interpretive Center. Outdoor events may require the user to rent tables, chairs, tents and portable toilets at their own expense.

Food and Drink

Food and drink served at the Kelley Farm must be catered or provided by the user. There are no cooking or food-preparation facilities available at the Kelley Farm. The user must arrange for all food and drink at their expense. The user is responsible for leaving the site clean and orderly after the event.

Staff

The Kelley Farm will provide maintenance for each special use, and interpretive staff for special tours. Users will be charged at a group tour rate of $5 per person with a minimum charge of $50.
