The East Terrace Site
Terminal Woodland AD 400-1700

drawing

Two teenagers sling their bows across their backs and set off along the bank of the river to look for game. The valley’s canopy of trees and low bluffs protects them from the sharp spring wind blowing through the pines above. A small girl captures a turtle for dinner when swimming across the icy river to the island. It is spring in Minnesota and the girl's family is travelling to their summer village by the lake.
