Select one of these activities to help your students examine artifacts and uncover stories in the History Center’s museum exhibits. Teachers and chaperones work with small groups of students to facilitate each activity.

Please allow 1-2 hours in the museum to complete activities.

EXPLORE!
Students become “history detectives” and dig deeper into exhibit themes and content when they answer questions using our Explore! booklets. Each student receives an illustrated booklet with questions and activities that guide and encourage interaction with the exhibits. Chaperones and teachers are provided with answer keys to help them facilitate discussion.

  • Student booklets are available in six different grade levels: Pre–K, 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-9 and 10-12

NOW ON DISPLAY!
Take on the role of an exhibit curator! Students are given a booklet to help them create their own museum. Using different organizing themes, students explore the exhibits to find items that will fit into a museum of their own. Students answer questions that help them describe and interpret the items they have selected and explain how they fit into their museum.
