This short note about Nelson appeared in the newspaper to describe her temporary return to Red Wing.

MRS. JULIA B. NELSON arrived in
Red Wing some days ago from her trip
through Europe. Some of her very
interesting and entertaining letters we
have published, descriptive not only
of events in America, but also to a
limited extent relating to what she saw
in Europe. She is an earnest worker
in educating the freedmen. We believe
it is her intention to remain here until
the disappearance of yellow fever
makes the South again habitable.
