Bringing the Books to the People
 
Gratia Countryman was the Head Librarian for the Minneapolis Public Library in the early 1900s. She implemented a mobile library system and encouraged the growth of library use in the area by establishing reading rooms in the Gateway area near St. Anthony Falls.
