This is a document that was filed in an effort to get repayment for miners who had to hire translators.



I. GREAT NORTHERN RAILWAY COMPANY.

Out of 415 cases where employes of the Great Northern Rail-
way Company
had been subjected to from $3.00 to $5.00 deductions from
their wages, ostensibly to pay interpreters, I have straightened out
or have in process of settlement some 300 claims. The total amount
of these claims was $4,000 odd, and the total amount, so far, secured
in settlement and to be secured by actions pending is about $3,000.
I herewith submit a partial list of the claims, trusting that it will
be sufficient to give you a general idea of their nature:
