Northern Lights: The Stories of Minnesota's Past


Northern Lights Updated version of the popular middle-level Minnesota history curriculum features three components:

Student Edition
by Dave Kenney. Investigations by Nancy O'Brien Wagner and Hillary Wackman.

The Student Edition retains the popular narrative approach of the first edition, and includes updated content information, additional research, and a proven 6th-grade reading level. The end-of-chapter investigations give students an opportunity to analyze primary sources and practice historical methods. 352 pages. 500 color and black-and-white illustrations and photos. $40.

Annotated Teacher's Edition
by Nancy O'Brien Wagner and Hillary Wackman.

The Annotated Teacher's Edition provides extensive support in an easy-to-use format. Whether teaching Minnesota history for the whole year or just part, educators will find the unit suggestions and timesaving ideas beneficial. Teachers at all experience levels will welcome the helpful margin notes. These notes include the following for each chapter: an overview, key-term definitions, a vocabulary list, educational objectives, getting-started questions, content tips, teaching tips, discussion questions, historic sites around the state, extension ideas, and follow-up questions. 408 pages. $80.
