Thomas Lyles
(1843-1920)
Thomas Lyles came to St Paul in 1874 and was among that first generation of civic leaders who helped shape the city's African American community. Lyles was a barber, real estate agent, publisher of the Western Appeal newspaper and one of St Paul's first undertakers.
