A collection of over 120 oral history interviews with recent immigrants to Minnesota and their
American-born children, including full transcripts and streaming audio files. These interviews
are a unique source of contemporary history through the experiences of the newest Americans, in
their own words.

Becoming Minnesotan presents the lives and stories of recent immigrants to Minnesota through their own words.
Listen to oral histories narrated by members of immigrant and refugee groups, including Hmong, Khmer, Asian
Indian, Somali and Tibetan, and explore these communities further through photographs, maps, timelines,

Duluth Lynchings Online Resource
Designed for researchers and older students, this web site encourages scholarship and awareness of the 1920 lynching of three young black men in Duluth, Minnesota. Search an in-depth collection of historical documents, view a multimedia timeline, and listen to oral history interviews of blacks who lived in Duluth around the time of the lynchings.
MN150 Wiki
The MN150 Wiki contains all the topics nominated for the MN150
exhibit at the Minnesota History Center. The 150 featured topics have narrative histories and links to other resources. Since this is a wiki, students and teachers can add their own memories, comments, resources and other additions to this great resource.
Forests, Fields, and the Falls
In the late 1800s, the work that people did in these different places connected
Minnesota. The lumbering of the white pine forest made possible settlement that
turned the prairies into farms. The Mississippi River divides these two regions.
And the bridge between them was the work at the capital of sawmills and flourmills:
Saint Anthony Falls.

In My Footlocker?"
This animated, interactive discovery activity engags students (grades
5 - 8) in learning about the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). Through
3-D objects, oral history audio clips, vocal narration, and music, students
will piece together what life was like in a CCC camp. Includes related
curriculum.
Share Your Story
Family
stories passed down from through generations are treasures that connect us
to our past and give us perspective for the future. Share Your Story is an
ever-expanding archive of stories submitted by the public about members of
Minnesota's Greatest Generation during the Depression, the War, and the Boom. Student
submissions are welcome.

The Holocaust and Minnesota History: A Curriculum for Grades 3-12
In conjunction with “Life in Shadows: Hidden Children and the Holocaust,” an exhibit from the United
States Holocaust Memorial Museum that showed at the Minnesota History Center, the Minnesota Historical Society has created a free curriculum for grades 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. Each of the three curricula is teacher-reviewed and comes with lesson plans, primary source readings and photographs, and worksheets designed to hone students’ historical thinking skills. In addition, some of the featured Holocaust survivors have written directly to students.

Minnesota Territory
Minnesota Territory contains activities and stories about
Minnesota in the years before it became a state. Content rich
interactive sections feature diverse cultures, people,
places and issues. Primary source materials such as written
records, nearly 100 photographs and art works, and artifacts
from the period illustrate the era. This site relates to the
History Center exhibit Tales of the Territory: Minnesota,
1849-1858.

Information about photographs, artwork, posters, and fine art photographs from the collections of the Minnesota Historical Society are included in this database. These historical collections visually represent Minnesotans, their lives, landscapes, leisure and occupations from the pre-territorial period to the present.
Minnesota's National Register Properties
More than 1,500 Minnesota listings, encompassing over 6,000 properties from all counties in the state, can be found on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP), the nation's official list of properties deemed worthy of preservation. In Minnesota the National Register program is administered by the Society's State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO).
Minnesota Author Biographies Project
This pilot database provides biographical sketches of 36 past and present Minnesota authors. Each entry is accompanied by a selected bibliography of significant works by the author, and lists of both print and Web-based sources of additional information about the author.
