Preserve Minnesota - A Time to Celebrate!
The 30th Annual Statewide Historic Preservation Conference
Thursday & Friday, September 16-17, 2010
Winona County Historical Society, Winona, Minnesota
Come to the Winona County Historical Society for the 30th Annual Statewide Historic Preservation Conference. Join us for the largest annual gathering of the Minnesota preservation community.
Sponsored by the State Historic Preservation Office of the Minnesota Historical Society and the Preservation Alliance of Minnesota. Hosted by the Winona County Historical Society, the City of Winona and the Winona Heritage Preservation Commission.
A former lumber town and island city on the Mississippi, Winona and its environs will serve as our laboratory and the Winona County Historical Society our headquarters and host. Celebrating their 75th anniversary, you’ll visit their restored 1914 Armory building and experience their brand new Laird-Norton Addition designed by Joan Soranno of Hammel, Green and Abrahamson, Inc. See how the new facility respects the history and fabric of Winona while adding to the architectural legacy of the city.
Legacy, Main Street, a new State Tax Credit and more! Celebrate and learn about an unprecedented year and new tools to employ for historic preservation in Minnesota. Join historians, architects, planners, public officials, property owners, preservation commission members and citizen advocates from all across the state in Winona for this annual two-day event. You’ll come away inspired and equipped to help you make preservation succeed in your own community.
We gratefully acknowledge the generous support of the Horace F. and Esther J. Chamberlain fund for Historic Preservation to make this conference possible.
