State Capital Project Grants-in-Aid: 2000 Grant Awards

The FY 2000 was grant cycle was held during the fall of 1999. Proposed projects ranged from the restoration of a city-owned functioning masonry watertower to the replacement of a county courthouse roof system. The variety of projects reflect the diverse publicly owned historic resources throughout the state.

Fourteen grants totaling $473,376 were awarded. Listed below are the funded projects alphabetically, by county.

Beltrami

1. Beltrami County, $20,000 for the Beltrami County Courthouse East Entrance Restoration, Bemidji

Brown

2. City of New Ulm, $75,000 for the Hermann Monument Restoration, phase II, New Ulm

Goodhue

3. Friends of Florence Town Hall, $11,042 for the Florence Town Hall Restoration, Frontenac vicinity

Hennepin

4. City of Eden Prairie, $30,500 for the Glen Lake Children's Camp Dining Hall and Dorm Roof Replacement, Eden Prairie

5. Minneapolis Water Works, $50,000 for the Washburn Park Water Tower Restoration, Minneapolis

Koochiching

6. Koochiching County, $50,000 for the Koochiching County Courthouse Roof Replacement, International Falls

Mahnomen

7. City of Mahnomen, $42,000 for the Mahnomen City Hall Heating Installation, Roof Restoration, and Tuckpointing, Mahnomen

McLeod

8. City of Winsted, $50,000 for the Winsted City Hall Restoration,Winsted

Meeker

9. City of Dassel, $39,273 for the Universal Laboratories Building Restoration, phase VI, Dassel

Mille Lacs
