Preservation Plans
Minnesota's statewide plan updated!
The new statewide historic preservation plan, A New Season, Preservation Plan for Minnesota's Historic Properties 2012-17 has been finalized. The new plan will be available in final printed form in January.
Every five years the Minnesota State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) updates the statewide historic preservation plan. The plan serves several purposes. First, it guides the work of the SHPO, which authors the plan and plays the lead role in its implementation – a role mandated under the National Historic Preservation Act. Second, and equally important, the plan provides a framework for the ongoing work of historic preservation by all of Minnesota's preservation partners.
Our thanks to the many who helped shape the new plan by participating in public meetings and the on-line survey and providing comments on the draft plan this fall.
