State Archives Processing Volunteer

Volunteers seated at a table and conversing together while they sort through records

Join the team of State Archives volunteers who are making St. Cloud Reformatory records accessible to library patrons. Move records from old folders to acid-free folders and label them for easy retrieval.

Enjoy socializing with others and making an occasional interesting discovery. Locks of hair, love letters, drawings, and even a cigarette butt which was evidence of an offense have been found in the old folders. For information about other discoveries volunteers made, visit the State Archives Facebook page.

This team volunteers twice per month on Monday or Wednesday mornings. Training is provided on the job.
