Honorable J.A.A. Burnquist,

Executive
Department
St. Paul, Minn.
My dear Governor
Burnquist:
Thank you very much for your letter of the 12th.,
telling of the action of the Grand Jury in the Duluth lynching cases.
We
shall watch very closely the results of the trials and I shall take up with you
the matter of a statement to the press after the trials are completed.
I
need hardly tell you how pleased we are with what has been done already and
especially are we gratified at the manifestation of you genuine interest in
these cases.
Very truly yours,
Walter White
Assistant Secretary.
