CHAIRMAN
2ND May, 1922.
J. J. Sullivan,
Warden,
State Prison,
Stillwater.
Dear Sir:
Enclosed find
letter from Max Mason, which is self-explanatory. He states that he desires to
pay $50 to he lawyer now, and if he is successful he is to pay $200 more. It
seems to us that $200 is too much. His lawyer is R. C. McCullough, 906 E.
3rd St., Duluth.
Will you kindly take the matter up with this man
and ascertain whether he ahs a letter from this lawyer as to what service he
will give him and what his charges will be.
If in you judgment, this man is
to be allowed to send $50 now to his attorney, will you so recommend to the
Board of Control. Otherwise have his name placed on the calendar of the Board of
Control for its next meeting.
Yours very truly,
C. J.
Swendsen
Chairman.
