MEDIA ALERT: Expanded Spring Hours Kick Off March 1 at Split Rock Lighthouse
Starting Sunday, March 1, Split Rock Lighthouse will reopen for general tours, including access to the interior of the lighthouse and other historic buildings. The site will be open daily from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
In November-February, visitors can only explore the visitor center and grounds, and historic building interiors are closed for the winter.
This year Split Rock visitors can experience tours of the historic site earlier in the season, and staff will be testing new summer 2020 programming during March-May.
During the spring, visitors can enjoy several special events, including Peregrine Falcons on the North Shore with the Midwest Peregrine Society on Sunday, April 18, and a free open house on Saturday, May 2.
Plus, mark your calendars for a new summer season kick-off event on Saturday, May 9, with kids’ games, author events, and rare evening access to tour the lighthouse while its beacon is lit.
