Thank you for your interest. In response to ongoing concerns over health and safety practices, MNHS museums and historic sites will not host any field trips during the 2020-2021 school year.

Look for scholarships to re-open in the fall of 2021 for the 2021-2022 school year.

Scholarships, Grants, and Subsidies.

The Minnesota Historical Society has a deep commitment to education. To increase access for students and teachers, we offer numerous scholarships and subsidies to help offset the costs of field trips, bus transportation, education programs, and teacher workshops.

MNHS historic sites and museums

Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Discounts offers financial assistance to serve schools with 50% or more enrollment in Federal Free and Reduced Lunch programs.

Dahlberg Scholarship offers financial assistance to offset admission costs for grades 4th through 8th grade.

Legacy Field Trip Support Fund offers financial assistance to offset transportation costs. Available to schools statewide.

MacMillan Field Trip Grants Program helps offset transportation and lodging costs to schools in Greater Minnesota.

NEW! Northern Lights Extended Field Trip fully funded multi-site field trip available to Minnesota sixth grade classrooms that use the Northern Lights curriculum.

Alexander Ramsey House

Adelia Wilson Endowment covers all transportation and admissions costs to schools visiting the Alexander Ramsey House.

Mill City Museum

McKnight Foundation Scholarship offers financial assistance to offset transportation costs and provides free admission to Mill City Museum for metro-area public schools. Limited to visits in January, February, and March.
