Special Events Assistant

The Ideal volunteer for this position provide excellent customer service and a warm, welcoming environment to visitors attending special events and programs at Historic Fort Snelling.  Volunteer duties may include things such as ushers, ticket takers, event setup, family art/activity assistants, visitor wayfinding guides, and product sellers.


Anyone interested in volunteering for this position must be friendly and welcoming. Physically, a volunteer in this role must be comfortable being stationary or moving about the museum for portions of shift. The schedule will vary depending on the season, but volunteers can expect a time commitment for this position of one shift per week, either in the morning or afternoon, approximately 4 hours per day.
