Museum Assistant, Sherlock Holmes Exhibition

We are seeking Museum Assistant volunteers for the Sherlock Holmes: The Exhibition. Volunteers will rotate in the following areas during their 4 hour shift: being a gallery greeter, answering visitor questions, and working at gallery stations. 


  • Greet and welcome visitors to the special exhibit.
  • Provide directional assistance and daily program information.


  • Provide a presence in the galleries and facilitate informal interaction between staff and visitors.
  • Assist visitors in navigating the exhibit activity stations to complete the provided activity booklet and solve the mystery.
  • Share and extend the content and assisting in solving the mystery where needed
  • Solicit comments from the visitor and encourage discussion pertaining to the objects.
  • Provide "non-interventive" security by their presence.

Shift Times
Every other Weekend
    Saturdays 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Training Session
Monday, October 17, 2022, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

About the Exhibit

Footprints, splatter patterns and the powers of observation mark the journey through Sherlock Holmes: The Exhibition opening Thursday, October 20, 2022 at the Minnesota History Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. The interactive experience combines history, science, and culture to bring to life the historic underpinnings of author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s rich and vibrant stories.
