The health and safety of our guests, staff, and community is our highest priority. With this in mind, Lower Sioux Agency has made some important updates to promote social distancing during your visit.
Keeping us all safe
We've put safety measures in place to protect the health of our visitors, staff, and volunteers based on guidance from the CDC and local governments:
- Visitors are required to wear masks indoors. Masks must cover both mouth and nose.
- Please maintain a 6-foot distance from other visitors and staff.
- If you are feeling sick, have flu-like symptoms, or have been in contact with someone who has recently had COVID-19, please visit us another time.
Three different self guided trail experiences are available. The first is a half-mile wheelchair accessible walk to the 1861 Agency Warehouse. The wheelchair accessible Traders Trail leads visitors on a one mile loop past many interpretive panels and through restored prairie. The more challenging and non-wheelchair accessible River Trail leads visitors down into floodplain forest and along the Minnesota River for one mile.
Please follow the signs and ground markings that have been installed throughout the grounds to ensure safe social distancing.
The visitor center, museum store, exhibit, and restrooms are open with limited capacity. Masks and social distancing are required inside the building.
