The historic site is located 20 miles north of Two Harbors and within Split Rock Lighthouse State Park. A convenient stop off Highway 61 makes it a favorite spot for Minnesota vacationers. Hike in from your campsite or drive in from your North Shore resort!
Free parking is available at the historic site for cars and buses, during the summer (May 15 through October 31) when the visitor center is open. During the winter (November 1 through May 14) and when the visitor center is not open, a state park vehicle permit is required for parking. At other parking lots in the state park, a parking pass is required.
Five disability parking spots are available in the lot. The pathway is paved from the parking lot the the visitor center.
