MNHS Local History Services staff met with board members and volunteers at Kaleva Hall, in Virginia, MN. Originally built as a temperance hall in 1906, the Knights and Ladies of Kaleva purchased it in the late 1960s and continue to operate it today. Staff helped them understand the Legacy grant program and helped them consider a plan to address some of the building’s preservation needs.
Produced by the Minnesota Alliance of Local History Museums and the Minnesota Historical Society’s Local History Services, the report draws on responses from 80 organizations across the state. Explore compensation, staffing, job titles, and hours, with analysis by annual budget, region, and staff size. Building on the 2022 survey, this report offers a snapshot of the people and resources supporting Minnesota’s local history community. Use the report to inform conversations about compensation, compare staffing structures, and support planning at your organization. View report »
