Visitor Experience

The health and safety of our guests, staff, and community is our highest priority. With this in mind, the Minnesota History Center has made some important updates to promote social distancing during your visit.

Advance tickets

Please buy your tickets in advance online or through the box office at 651-259-3015. Tickets are timed-entry. Please arrive promptly to reduce overcrowding. Bring your printed or electronic ticket to the ticketing deck to get your wristband. Limited walk-up tickets are available and must be purchased before 3:00 pm. The museum closes at 4:00 pm.

Exhibits

Some exhibits have been removed or modified to allow for social distancing. Updated cleaning protocols are in effect for high touch surfaces like buttons and touch screens. Staff members are available to share information and answer questions.

Gale Family Library

The Gale Family Library remains temporarily closed to in-person visits, however limited library staff will continue to assist researchers via the website and email.

Dining

The Market House Cafe is open Thursday - Sunday (beginning October 1, 2020) and offers a variety of grab-and-go options. Cafe tables have been arranged with social distancing in mind, and will be cleaned after each use. Hand sanitizer is available at each register. Masks are required when not eating.

Shop

The museum store is open during museum hours. Also find great goods anytime at mnhs.org/shop.

Health and safety

Visitors are required to wear a mask in accordance with Governor Walz’s Executive Order 20-81. Visitors who don’t bring a mask will be given one. Please maintain a 6-foot distance from other visitors and staff. If you are feeling sick, have flu-like symptoms, or have been in contact with someone who has recently had COVID-19, please visit us another time.
