Root Cellar

Photo of the root cellar

The oldest structure on the farm, this root cellar was part of the first house from 1850 to 1876. Cellars were used for winter storage of vegetables and preservation of foods, in addition to providing a cool summer storage area. In it, you can see the original rock walls dating back to 1850.
