Join Lou Bellamy, founder and artistic director emeritus of Penumbra Theatre; Sarah Bellamy, artistic director; and Star Tribune theater critic Rohan Preston for an evening of insightful conversation about four decades of creating powerful, inclusive, consciousness-altering theater about race in America. Penumbra Theatre has provided a stage for unflinchingly beautiful and honest depictions of the African American experience since it opened in 1976.

A nationally-respected gem in the heart of St. Paul, the theater company has launched the careers of many talented theater artists, including two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright August Wilson, without losing sight of its mission to inspire, educate and reflect the pride and perseverance of the communities whose stories it tells.
