On this tour, hear about the area's music and theater history, including the 1960s folk and blues scene and how in the 1960s and 1970s college students, hippies, artists and others residents came together to successfully resist urban renewal plan. Then learn about the neighborhood's thriving art scene today and about new immigrant groups, specifically Somali, who are building businesses, places of worship and social service agencies.
