Join historian Mark Haidet to learn about the Minnesota State Fair during World War I. The Great Minnesota Get-Together included Army recruiting booths with displays of horsemanship; sporting contests highlighting the athletic ability essential for men who might enlist; and a nightly show at the Grandstand featuring thousands of reenactors depicting major battles of the Western Front.

Forgotten Stories is a new series that brings together nationally known historians to explore forgotten WW1-era stories of the individuals and organizations who made modern America. Look for additional lectures offered each month through November.

This program is made possible by the Fred C. and Katherine B. Andersen Foundation.
