In 1859, newspapers throughout Minnesota were covering the murder trial of Ann Bilansky, a St. Paul woman accused of murdering her husband. Although Bilansky was convicted and later executed in 1860, doubts remained about whether she was truly guilty. This tour focuses on those involved with the case, from Bilansky and her lawyers to politicians and newspaper reporters. Hear excerpts from records detailing court testimony, see newspaper articles chronicling the timeline of events, and discover the role forensic evidence played in gaining a conviction.

This program is for ages 18 and up and offered at 7 and 8:30 pm.
