Beginning in the 1850s, thousands of immigrants from Nordic countries settled in Minnesota and quickly established themselves in the political life of their new home. Join MNHS Press author Klas Bergman to explore the stories of these Norwegians, Swedes, Danes, Finns and Icelanders who first sowed their political seeds at the local level and then broadened their sights to the state and national realm, leaving a lasting legacy for modern Minnesota.

Klas Bergman is a journalist and author of the 2017 MNHS Press book Scandinavians in the State House: How Nordic Immigrants Shaped Minnesota Politics.
