John Hest, NDSU graduate student in rural and agricultural history, will share his research about Georgetown, Minnesota's founding as a Hudson Bay Company post and its importance to the Red River Valley. Hest will discuss how the Hudson Bay Company's work loading and unloading Red River carts and steamboats made Georgetown a center for commerce in the Red River Valley.

After the presentation, guests can enjoy light refreshments and explore the house. This presentation is part of the new Hiram M. and Ada M. Drache Lecture Series taking place at the Comstock House during the 2017-2018 school year.
