Join the faculty of the Concordia College music department as they recreate Richard Wagner's "Siegfried Idyll." Wagner composed the piece as a birthday present for his wife Cosima in 1870, in honor of the birth of his first son, Siegfried. The piece’s first performance is said to have happened on the stairs of the Wagner home in Switzerland on Christmas morning as a wake-up call for Cosima. The faculty will recreate that morning concert for the public on the main staircase of the Comstock House.
After the concert, guests can enjoy refreshments and explore the house.
