Enjoy a drink while learning about the work of early renegades and pioneers in sound. How do we have physical recordings of sound waves from 1861? Is the piano–like the one in the Ramsey House–one of the most marvelous technological achievements in Western culture? Is it possible there was a synthesizer that streamed live concerts all over Manhattan in 1906? Come see how fascinating and unexpected the early world of sound recording is.
This program is offered at 5:30 and 8:30 pm and is for age 21 and up. Admission includes two drinks, snacks, presentation and time to mingle in the mansion.
