Join a family day of music, poetry, and celebration in honor of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Families can drop in to assemble roadside kindness kits as part of a service project with Small Sums, an organization that serves adults who are experiencing homelessness. Plus, stop in to see The 1968 Exhibit before it closes.

The day's activities include:

  • 11:30 am: VocalEssence youth choir performance, featuring as many as 50 kids from 17 schools across the Twin Cities
  • Noon: In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre presents a Mr. Rogers masked character and toy theater
  • 12:30 pm: VocalEssence youth choir performance
  • 1 pm: "I Have a Dream and a Prediction" poetry reading and discussion with Keno Evol and Lisa Marie Brimmer
  • 2 pm: In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre Mr. Rogers masked character and toy theater
