Historic Fun for All Ages at Historic Fort Snelling’s Family Day

The whole family can create memories together on August 12

ST. PAUL, Minn (August 3, 2023) – Historic Fort Snelling invites visitors of all ages to come together for a hands-on activity day on Saturday, August 12.

Guests are invited to explore the site’s 22 acres along the bluffs of the scenic Mississippi and Minnesota Rivers, where they will find activities throughout the historic fort and newly refurbished Plank Museum and Visitor Center.

Historic games, 19th century school lessons, cabin building, and cooking demonstrations that showcase what life was like for families in the past will be available throughout the fort.

Visitors are invited to take part in an egg race, get a drum and banjo lesson, take a look around the Commandant’s House, and much more.

Family Day is included with the cost of regular site admission. ($12 for adults, $8 for children ages 5-17, free for MNHS members, Native Americans, veterans, and children under 4 years old.)
