Historians Ann Merriman (PhD, MA, BA) and Christopher Olson (MA, BA), are the
only nautical, underwater, & maritime archaeologists permanently based &
licensed in the State of Minnesota. Underwater & nautical archaeological
excavations & documentations include: wrecks (Minnesota, North Carolina,
Michigan, Hawaii, Virginia, Florida, Georgia, Bermuda), piers, bridges,
mills, dock structures, & a marine boilers site (North Carolina, Minnesota),
submerged architecture (Jamaica, Greece), a PBY Flying Boat (Hawaii), & other
resources.

Notes: Maritime Heritage Minnesota employs the only Underwater, Nautical,
Maritime, and Maritime Terrestrial Archaeologists in Minnesota, licensed by
the Office of the State Archaeologist. Within a not-for-profit paradigm, MHM
conducts side and down imaging sonar surveys, wreck and site identification
and documentation using SCUBA, maritime terrestrial excavation, small craft
documentation and 3D scanning, and manuscript (ship's logs) digitization and
access.
