Explore the lives and trailblazing careers of six iconic African-American entertainers who changed American culture through their films, fashion, music and politics: Lena Horne, Abbey Lincoln, Nina Simone, Diahann Carroll, Cicely Tyson and Pam Grier.

Be sure to stay for the post-screening community discussion featuring a prerecorded interview with the film’s director, Yoruba Richen, and MSP Film Programmer Craig Laurence Rice.

This film series is a partnership between the Minnesota Historical Society, MSP Film Society, and the Capri Theater. First Thursday Films @ the Capri aims to create a space for dialogue and better understanding.
