Presented by The Avant Garde, Soul of the Cities is an outdoor concert that features some of the best premier talent in the Twin Cities R&B/Soul scene. The Twin Cities is historic for its musical influence globally on soul music. The raw talent of today’s local music scene carries on that great tradition and sets an incredible tone for its future.

The performance features Jamela Pettiford, William Wesley, Monique Blakey and Ray Covington. With an amazing band and hosted by Chadwick “Niles” Phillips, this event is going to be a great way to start the summer!

  • Doors open at 7 pm; program begins at 7:30 pm.
  • Seating is general admission. Please do not bring additional chairs, seating will be provided.
  • No outside alcoholic beverages, coolers, or cooler bags may be brought into the Ruin Courtyard.

Please enter the Ruin Courtyard at 704 South 2nd Street.

In case of rain, the program will move indoors to Mill Commons, our main lobby. The decision will be made by 2 pm on the day of the concert and announced by email and on Facebook.
